Founded in 2009 in Milan as a biannual “almanac of contemporary aesthetics," KALEIDOSCOPE is a meeting place for a global community of creative minds, drawn by an audacious art direction and ever-surprising contributions from visionary artists, writers and image-makers. Believing that artists are the real truth-tellers and agents of change, our work puts their vision and creativity front and center—a constant reminder about the importance of pushing boundaries and breaking new ground.
Since 2017, KALEIDOSCOPE curates the program of events and exhibitions of Spazio Maiocchi, a social space in Milan founded by Slam Jam and Carhartt WIP. Building and nurturing a culturally conscious, new-generation audience in Italy’s fashion and design capital, the space has affirmed itself as a new breed of art institution. Exhibited artists include Sterling Ruby, H.R. Giger, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Yngve Holen, Erik Brunetti, Sylvie Fleury, Anna Uddenberg, Arthur Jafa, Virgil Abloh, Timur Si-Qin, Tobias Spichtig, and Darja Bajagić. Read more.
Since 2019, KALEIDOSCOPE organizes an annual festival in Paris titled MANIFESTO, bringing together visionary artists and creators from different areas of culture across four days of installations, performances, talks, workshops, and music sets. Following the inaugural edition at Lafayette Anticipations, the 2022 and 2023 editions have taken place in association with Goat at the PCF building designed by legendary Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Participating artists and creators include Wales Bonner, Ottolinger, Crystallmess, Jon Rafman, ERL, Sterling Ruby, Hajime Sorayama, H.R. KALEIDOSCOPE's experimental approach expands to commissioned projects in print, online, and IRL. Our creative studio offers a full suite of in-house capabilities to brands, art institutions, and private organizations in need of an inspired and globally-networked consulting team.
Capsule is KALEIDOSCOPE's new sibling publication delving into the world of design in its broader definition—one that encompasses interiors and architecture, fashion and technology, ecology and craft—to explore our relationship with desire and consumption. A hybrid between a magazine and a book, paying homage to a lineage of Italian radical design publications while indulging in a lavish physicality, Capsule is released annually during Milan Design Week. Beyond print, the magazine serves as a 360° curatorial platform, at the helm of an innovative showcase format like Capsule Plaza while also producing a clothing and home line. Read more.
